Manufacturing Quality Engineer – 885 – Technip

Main function of job :
To introduce innovative techniques and to apply best practice activities in order to drive the manufacturing quality to best in class level.

To identify quality/potential opportunities for improvement through internal audits and to initiate actions that lead to effective solutions.

To oversee the coordination of a team of Quality technicians and lead improvement activities.

In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required

Main duties (in order of priority)

Introduction of more manufacturing front line problem solving processes such as operator QRQC

To oversee and control the improvement activities in line with those identified by business needs.

To facilitate and manage shopfloor quality concerns

Reporting of progress at agreed frequency and to supply weekly reports to Project teams and QHSE personnel.

To be an active member of the QIP teams

To be involved in the management of Major NCR close out activities.

To implement, maintain and manage an effective MSA process.

To improve, monitor and update an effective PFMEA and PCP system

To liaise with planning personnel and advise where necessary of any possible scheduling impacts with project planning.

The feedback of quality related issues and to produce punch lists as necessary to track critical activities and components.

To direct all commercial and contractual matters, where possible costs could be incurred, to the specific project area.

To represent DUCO Ltd in an advisory capacity on issues of a quality nature relating to the products physical properties and manufacturing processes.

Maintain compliance to ISO9001:2008 for relevant procedures.

Internal auditor for the Business Management System.

To report any HSE issues, raising these concerns with the relevant suppliers management

Performance Measurement

The individual performance and assessment criteria shall be established during the annual appraisal assessment between the employing Manager and jobholder.

Supervisory responsibilities

Supplier Quality Inspection Team and Third party inspection agencies

Health Safety responsibilities

All personnel are responsible to ensure their compliance with HS Management Systems in accordance with the principles, objectives and targets of the company’s policy and in compliance with statutory provisions, taking account the complexity and business risks involved in operations.

General Office equipment

Working conditions/degree of effort required

General office and Factory environment, including at times fabrication and welding areas. A significant number of visits to sub-contractors suppliers both in the UKL and abroad will be a requirement of the role.

Some degree of effort may be required in order to achieve agreed targets and objectives

Qualifications / Experience required

HNC as a minimum or equivalent, within an engineering discipline

At least 5years experience in a Senior level quality related discipline

Experience in a Lean 6 Sigma role

Good time management skills.

Experienced auditor with experience in manufacturing/ fabrication.

A

comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing and welding activities is preferable

Computer literate (MS Office, Oracle)

Experience of a structured problem solving approach.
