Our client based in Newcastle is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter to join their team as soon as possible on a casual basis.

This casual role will be working afternoon shift Monday to Friday, and is a short term position, approximately 6-8 weeks work, maybe longer. There would be regular overtime required.

Duties will include but are not limited to preventative maintenance, fault finding and modification work on Shredders and mobile equipment.

To be successful, you must possess:
Fitter trade qualifications,

Valid forklift ticket,

EWP and Working at Heights tickets would be highly regarded,

Skills in welding and oxy cutting advantageous,

Experience with conveyors, pneumatics and hydraulics,

Experience within a similar role in a steel or heavy production environment,

Any additional tickets operating heavy vehicles or a dogman’s ticket would be highly valued,

Safety as a core value,

Ability to work as part of a team or individually when required.

The selection process will involve completing aptitude assessments, as well as a pre-employment medical including an illegal substances test.
