Department Function:
To ensure the establishment and maintenance of Quality Standards for the Company’s products in line with the Offshore Oil Industry requirements and the Company’s Quality Policy.
Job Function:
To expedite procured items through liaison with the suppliers nominated point of contact in accordance with specific project and manufacturing schedules.
To identify quality problems and to initiate actions that lead to effective solutions where the project and planning schedules are threatened.
To interface with both the project and procurement departments, reporting of inspection and manufacturing progress and where necessary feedback of quality related issued to the QHSE Manager.
Main Duties:
Liaise with the supplier’s nominated point of contact and attend, as required, scheduled progress meetings, oversee and co-ordinate all third party inspection activities, ensuring vendors / suppliers manufacturing processes are in accordance with specified requirements and all quality aspects have been addressed.
Review of project and manufacturing procurement plans to ensure delivery dates are achieved.
Reporting of Inspection and progress at agreed frequency and to supply weekly reports to Project teams, Procurement and QHSE personnel.
To perform inspection activities in accordance with approved and current supplier Inspection and Test Plans and / or factory acceptance test procedures.
Ongoing and final review of Suppliers Documentation and as-built records and to issue Release Notes for procured items.
To liaise with planning personnel and advise where necessary of any possible scheduling impacts with project planning.
The feedback of quality related issues and to produce punch lists as necessary to track critical activities and components.
To direct all commercial and contractual matters, where possible costs could be incurred, to the specific project area.
To represent DUCO Ltd in an advisory capacity on issues of a quality nature relating to the products physical properties and manufacturing processes.
To monitor activities at suppliers ‘key’ sub suppliers and to report any shortfalls or issues that could effect DUCO scheduling.
Liaise with the Quality Control incoming goods personnel.
Ensure all reviews, approvals and compilation of final certification and manufacturing documentation, including Inspection Release Certification in accordance with planned delivery dates are completed.
Maintain communications with vendor / suppliers on a daily basis to enable site visits during critical activities.
Review and report upon supplier resourcing / manning where there is a possible impact to meet the DUCO project schedule.
To report any HSE issues, raising these concerns with the relevant suppliers management.
Applicants must be educated to HNC Level or equivalent within an engineering discipline.
Comprehensive knowledge of NDT and welding activities in addition to good working knowledge of MS Office and Oracle is essential.
Visits to sub-contractors suppliers both in the UK and abroad will be a requirement of the role.
