A position has become available at our Tomago plant for an experienced hands on Shift Supervisor. You will need to be someone who operates on the workshop floor actually running the production team and controlling the operations. You will need a forklift licence and come from a Boiler making/Steel Fabrication/Welding background and preferably have a Welding Supervisors or Inspectors qualification. Previous Supervisors or Foreman’s experience is essential to be successful in this fast paced environment.

1st Year Engineering Fabrication (Light) Apprentice – Central Coast Group Training (CCGT)

Central Coast Group Training is the Coast’s leading employer of apprentices and trainees and has been in operation for more than 32 years.

Our host employer is a metal fabrication business who supplies the food, building, marine and plumbing industries with quality customised products. Based in Somersby our host is looking for a 1st year apprentice to join his team.

Duties within this role will include the following but will not be limited to;

• Measure, cut and mending various metals

• Marking out and grinding

• Polishing welding

• Assembling the materials

• Site installation

• Use of power tools

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following;

• High attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure

• Strong communication skills

• Good hand/eye coordination

• Be safety conscious

• Enjoy a variety of work projects

• Ability to work in a team

• Take pride in your work

You must be available to work Monday to Friday between 7am and 3:30pm, as well as Saturdays when required with the occasional overtime.

As part of this position you will be required to travel with a tradesperson between sites to complete installations, these sites vary across the Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney regions.

As part of the apprenticeship you will be PAID to study a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade (Light) through off the job training over a 48 month period.
